CSNA President Sara Orme and Vice President Flora Crowe met with Minister for Retail Alan Dillon TD, accompanied by CSNA Chief Executive Vincent Jennings at the Department of Enterprise in Kildare Street on Wednesday.
During the course of a wide-ranging Agenda, the delegates stressed tot eh Minister the need to investigate the high cost of essential groceries by looking at the global players in the manufacturing and distribution of household staples, rather than fruitlessly focusing solely on the retail chain, who in the main, do not increase prices unless they have had increases forced upon them further up the chain.
We also spoke of SME tests, retail security, rates valuations for forecourts and the need for integrated training to assist waste management.
