After extensive discussions and representation from CSNA on behalf of our members with the Principal EHO in the Tobacco Control Office regarding payment methods for the tobacco licence, we are pleased to announce that starting July 1st, retailers will have the option to pay for their tobacco and vaping licences via EFT (Electronic Fund Transfer) in addition to the previously available credit card option.
While this represents an improvement for retailers, the same cannot be said for the lack of progress in ironing out the IT problems relating to some company details not being accepted by the Application portal. There is less than a month to go for this problem, known to the HSE since February, to be fixed.
We would like to remind members that the deadline for application for your tobacco or vaping (or both) licence is August 2nd. Your licence renewal date will be 12months from the date that the application for the licence was made.
We will again remind members to apply for their licence closer to the deadline.
