FSAI – EHS Food Safety

We are aware that both the Food Safety Authority of Ireland and the contracted compliance officers from the EHS are paying particular attention to the “Use by” dates of products in stores throughout Ireland.

A recent visit (see here) showed the extent and range of a variety of food products that remained on shelves after the “use by” date had elapsed.

These infractions can be very expensive, financially, and reputationally. Please ensure that your staff carry out Best Practice inspections and remind them to document their findings.
