Gardaí Get Tough On Crime

The Association is very pleased to see the direction that Assistant Commissioner for Dublin Paul Cleary has indicated. We would, however remind members that we need to be permitted to share images of known troublemakers with both the gardaí and other shopkeepers. This is currently frowned upon by the data protection commissioner who seems to form the opinion that protecting criminals and their right to anonymity is more important than having a just and fair society. Nevertheless, we commend AC Cleary for this initiative.
