Members will be aware that the October Budget increased the excise on all tobacco products by 50cent (VAT included) per 20 pack and pro rata.
This increase ordinarily creates a reduction in percentage margin on the products which, as you know, retailers are forbidden by law from selling at a price higher than that determined by the tobacco companies.
We have been notified that John Player (Imperial) will be increasing the price of a number of their products on the 9th of March.
The new CSNA price list for all cigarettes and other tobacco products will be amended and available from March 9th.
