Sara brings 20 years of experience as a store owner, operating under the Daybreak brand, and has previously worked for Dunnes Stores while training to become a teacher.
She is deeply committed to ongoing training, especially in the areas of peer-to-peer learning and sharing insights, experiences, and ideas within the retail sector

My journey in retail began in 1966 in Limerick, where my father ran a newsagency.
From 1976 to 2004, I managed several outlets in the city, focusing on forecourt and convenience stores. Throughout this time, I held various positions including Branch Secretary, Branch President, National Executive Member, and National President. This experience has given me a deep understanding of our members’ challenges and, at least some insights into their solutions.
In 2004, I became the CEO of the CSNA and have proudly represented our members and their interests for over 20 years at both local and governmental levels. Currently, I serve on the Retail Forum and the Retail Payments Forum. Additionally, I recently took on the role of Chairperson of the Alliance for Insurance Reform and have previously been a member of the Low Pay Commission. In 2024, I was honoured with the Shelflife C-Store Champion of the Year Award.
