We continue to hear from retailers that either they or their colleagues have fallen for the most recent scam doing the rounds- the person who wants to key in the numbers into your payment terminal because his card is faulty or some other made-up problem.

There are NO good and valid reasons that you should maintain this facility on your terminal- tell your merchant service provider to disable it immediately and place a notice on or near your counter advising your customers.
